L’aria è irre­spi­ra­bile, il fumo dei lacri­mo­geni entra nei pol­moni e gon­fia di lacrime gli occhi. I sol­dati spa­rano pro­iet­tili di rive­stiti di gomma con­tro i dimo­stranti. I tira­tori scelti hanno in canna muni­zioni vere, pronti ad usarle per col­pire i «lea­der» dei pale­sti­nesi che dalla strada in basso lan­ciano sassi e urlano slo­gan tra coper­toni in fiamme.

By placing the burden of blame for the Holocaust on the Palestinian people, he built them into a mythical, demonic enemy, bigger than any adversary the Jewish people ever faced, effectively pardoning himself for failing to “defeat” the enemy and propping himself up for being the only one insightful enough to see the enormity of the fight.

A UN report issued by the World Bank revealed on Monday that the decline in aid from donor countries, last year’s war in the Gaza Strip and the freeze of tax revenues due to the Palestinian Authority during the first trimester of this year have caused severe damage to the Palestinian economy. According to the report, the Palestinians have been getting poorer over the past three years as a result of the political, security, economic and social conditions imposed on them.
