One evening, back when my daughter was in high school, she showed me the map that her teacher handed out in geography class. It was a schematic drawing, black lines on white paper. The outside line enclosed the area of Israel, the West Bank, Gaza and the Golan Heights. The inside lines divided it into geographic regions that the students were supposed to label – Samaria hills, coastal plain, and so forth. My daughter had stopped the class with a question. "Where's the Green Line?" she'd asked the dumbfounded teacher.

It was the parents of the children in Ashkelon’s School of the Arts who went to the mayor and demanded to revoke the appointment of Avital Benshalom as principal, after finding out that 13 years ago she signed a petition supporting soldiers who refused to serve in the army in the occupied territories.

Gerusalemme, 7 settembre 2015, Nena News – Una delle politiche più odiose per obiettivi e modalità: la demolizione di case palestinesi nei Territori Occupati da parte delle autorità israeliane. Non trascorre settimana senza che le agenzie di stampa locali non riportino della distruzione di abitazioni civili tra Gerusalemme e la Cisgiordania: i bulldozer israeliani arrivano, accompagnati in genere da un ingente numero di soldati e dai funzionari dell’Amministrazione Civile (ente israeliano preposto alla gestione ‘amministrativa’ dei Territori), danno alla famiglia palestinese pochi minuti di tempo per svuotare le stanze dei beni più preziosi, minuti in cui si deve decidere in fretta cosa portare con sé e cosa sacrificaree poi procedono alla distruzione.
